Open source business solution provider
Orkney is an open source business solution provider located in Yokohama Japan, specializing in geospatial Web technologies such as mapping, routing and geocoding . We provide high quality consulting services for companies in integration of open source geospatial solutions and develop customized applications for our customers. We have been supporting local OSGeo community since local chapter launch in 2006 and organizing various activities in the community.

Management
Toru Mori, Founder, President and CEO
Toru Mori as President and CEO leads the company, long term contributor to the Japanese OSGeo community, gives business consulting services to customers and supervises day to day operation with his wide experience in GIS, LBS and mapping market. Prior to launching the company, he was in the position of sales and marketing director of MapInfo Japan office in Tokyo from 2000 to 2001, restructured channel operation from old fashioned distributor model to a more effective scheme, and introduced web sales leads generation model. Toru Mori started his professional career at Alps Mapping Company (currently a division of Yahoo Japan), one of the major mapping companies located in Japan. He, as business development manager, launched a mapping software product called “ProAtlas”, and his efforts made Alps Mapping Company one of the leading digital map content providers in Japan.
