Japan Routing API

Overview

Web service for shortest path calculation between two points from within Japan, as well as driving distance calculation with time, distance and speed constraints. All services are accessible through RESTful API.

The road network covers the complete Japanese roads with a minimum road width of 3.0m or higher.

The routing service only returns route geometry information and is independent from map vendors. Integration with Mapserver or Geoserver, overlay on top of Google Maps or other ways of displaying the route is possible.

The web service provides a RESTful API accessible through URI with custom parameters. Available response formats are following open standards such as GeoJSON, KML, WKT and GML.

Pricing

This service requires a monthly subscription. The monthly charge depends on the number of routing requests per month.

Japan Geocoding API

Overview

Web service for Geocoding of Japanese addresses (Japanese characters) to return latitude and longitude of an address, as well as Reverse Geocoding service to return the closest Japanese address from a given position. Both services are accessible through RESTful API.

The available address database contains about 35 million address points of allover Japan.

The web service provides a RESTful API accessible through URI with custom parameters. Available response formats are following open standards such as GeoJSON, KML, WKT and GML.

Japan Road Network Data

Overview

Orkney offers ready to use road network data for pgRouting. The road network covers the complete Japanese roads with a minimum road width of 3.0m or higher.

This road network data contains a wide range of road attributes. All roads provide information about road classification, road link length and width. Further available attributes are freeway and tollroad information, link classification, speed restrictions, number of lanes, travel speed (during peak hours), traffic restriction types, access restriction information, 12 hours traffic volume and road names for major roads.

Japan Map as OGC WMS

Overview

Orkney provides a detailed map of complete Japan available as OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) web mapping service (WMS).

Pricing

One service scheme is intended to be used by desktop applications and it is available as one-year subscriptions.

The second subscription model is available for server use with a monthly payment scheme that scales with the number of WMS requests per server client.

Japan Map data in ESRI Shape format

Overview

Orkney offers the complete map of Japan in scale 1/25,000 as map data in ESRI Shape file format. This data covers all regions from cities to urban areas. The amount of informations makes this data suit very well as background map.

The map data perfectly matches with UMN MapServer and is shipped with a MapServer configuration file (mapfile) to render map images in different scales. It is optimized for small scales and will provide a good looking map design right away.

Furthermore you can create your own unique map style by customizing the map file, changing colors, lines or fonts for example.
